For most of the Translations, we follow “per Source word” Pricing Model i.e. we charge per word rates for translation services provided by us.
Below are our indicative “per word” translation prices for a few common language pairs:

What do our translation services rates include?
- Translation by an experienced & domain expert native translator(s)
- Proofreading by Native Proofreader(s)
- Basic formatting in common software programs such as Word, Excel etc
- Dedicated Project Manager for better managing the task and timely delivery
- IT Support to aid file management / format conversions etc.
Factors on which our translation services cost per word depends
- Volume of the data to be translated
At ILI, we ensure that each translation is done with utmost quality. To do this, some research (such as glossary etc) needs to be done for each translation which incurs cost. As the volume of data increases this initial cost averages out and the cost per word decreases.
That being said, our translation rates (even for small translation projects) are much lower than industry standard BULK RATES. - Complexity of the data
Our “100% Human Translation” policy means that a lot of effort is spent on background research work prior to translation. The effort spent on this research increases significantly as the complexity of the text to be translated increases. For eg translation cost per word for a technical process in Visio may be significantly more when compared to a regular website. - Language Pair
One language may not be as widely spoken as another language. Accordingly availability of experienced professional translators of one language may vary when compared to another language - And so does the translation cost!
For eg translation cost per word of translating a website from English to Spanish may be significantly less than translating the same website to Icelandic. Moreover, to comply with our Translation Quality benchmarks (see our Total Quality Management Translation Process) and “100% Human Translation” policy, in addition to translators we require proofreaders. - Expected Turnaround time
Industry vide translation rates per word vary depending on the expected turnaround time. An “urgent translation” or an “expedited translation” may incur a much higher cost of translation.
At ILI, in most cases, we do not follow this policy, and provide clients with an option to expedite the translation free of charge!
